Dewitt Henry Drive, Beebe, Ark., Sunday, September 6th from 2 -4 p.m. ![]() Visitation will be held at Smith-Westbrook Funeral Home, 404 W. A veteran of Vietnam, he served in five countries and across the United States, before retiring in September of 1987. He served at Central High School during the time of the Little Rock Nine. Retired Sergeant Major Jerry Holland proudly served this country for more than 33 years, attaining the highest enlisted rank possible. Jerry and Jeannie were blessed with 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Together they raised their five children. He cared, provided, adored and loved her for over 62 years. He married the love of his life, Jeannie Sanders, on September 18, 1958. He was a stellar baseball player and graduate of Dyess High School, Class of 1956. A man of humble beginnings, he was raised with his seven siblings, Darrell, Arthell, Wendell, Eula, Lee, Carrell, and Joyce, by his loving and nurturing parents, Vernon and Icelean Holland. He was born September 1, 1938, in Dyess, Ark. He was a dedicated, loyal man who loved his Lord, wife, family and country dearly. Jerry was a Godly man and a member of Union Valley Baptist Church for over 32 years. He passed to Eternity with his wife of 62 years, Jeannie, and his five children, Jerry Jr., Mike, Sherri Taylor, Christi Johnston, and Nikki Gibbs, by his side. Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Jerry O'Neal Holland Sr., went to be with his Heavenly Father on August 31, 2020. ![]()
